I was buying a Sabres jersey but I was wondering if anyone on these boards knew how to get players to sign the jersey. I wanted to get a home jersey and have the whole team sign it. So any ideas? Or know where I could find one? I live in British Columbia Canada so obviously I'd pay who ever could get that done... |

If you don't mind me borrowing your thread, Jammerz, I have a similar question. I see a bunch of autographed stuff on eBay, and I wondered if anyone had any advice on how to tell what's legit and what's not. As much as I'd love to go get signatures myself, I don't live anywhere near Buffalo anymore, so I can't... but like Jammerz said, I'd probably be willing to pay someone here if they'd want to help me out with that. |

There is no way to tell. Dealers that sell certified authentic autographed jerseys don't use eBay. |

Unless you want to pay out the nose for a Mei Gray certified jersey, I recommend getting them yourself. (Not all Mei Gray jerseys are autographed. They mostly deal in authentic game worn) |

when i get autographed stuff online i check it by comparing it with other autographs and looking for certain things in the signature or little things that players do. Like when i was looking at a signed Hasek jersey (that i ended up buying) i compared it to another Hasek auto that i have to make sure it matched and i learned that Hasek tends to sign the actual jersey and not on the number which also checked out. A lot of it doing some research to make sure its legit ...and if you buy it and it turns out its not, well eBay does have a buyer protection thing that will get you your money back. the other thing you can do is get it PSA authenticated (which i did with the Hasek jersey). a local sports card shop out here in chicago has someone come in and do it every couple months so i did it that way. But like Phil said, the best way is to get it yourself. speaking of that. the best way that i know of to get something signed by a player (much less a whole team) would be to attend an open practice (if the sabers still do that) and wait for them outside the locker room (if thats still allowed). when i was a kid i got a stick signed by most of the '96 (i think) sabres that way. |
