Apparently MacArthur used his size and knocked out St. Louis for a minute.

I agree MacArthur can light the lamp but like others have said he can't do it consistently and it's really no big deal getting rid of him. There are plenty of players that are expendable like him.

There are so many players that can do what he does. Heck, we could get a lower skill, harder working, bigger hitting version of MacArthur. I have no idea how we got such a big return for him.

I thought that was Darcy's best deal of the trade deadline. I want to give Torres the rest of the season to see what he does. But if Darcy has no plans on re-signing the guy then it's a total waste of a pick. I'm not a big fan of letting players walk and getting nothing for them.

How in the name of heaven did we get a 3rd and a 5th for Mac? Seriously? Atlanta is so stupid.

Hopefully we resign Torres. I'd give him 3 million a year. Wonder what his asking price will be?

Actually Timbo Slice it's even better than a 3rd and 5th, it's a 3rd and 4th for Mac

For real? Holy crap. Darcy just swung like the best deal of his career.

gilmore and dumont for grosek, anyone?

Video?

I never saw it, but it was in the recap of the Atlanta/Tampa Bay game.

"St. Louis was shaken up after being checked into the boards by Atlanta's Clarke MacArthur with 7:46 left in the game. After spending a couple minutes kneeling behind the Thrashers' net, St. Louis was able to skate off the ice."

There you go.

Thanks! It was probably like that game against the Oilers, when he accidentally took out Reddox.

Both hits are pretty clean. Downie does leave his feet a bit, but doesn't hit overly high because of how short he is. I dont know why they were mad at MacArthur, minus maybe the charge by rule, but they never call charging in the NHL unless it's on Kaleta.

Both look fine to me, physical hardnosed hockey.

That's something I don't like about the current NHL.

It used to be that if you got caught you just accepted that you got leveled and moved on. Nowadays even a clean hit ends up with a brawl.
