I think EVERYONE should be promoted in this game. And for Americans it would only make sense to promote someone from your own country at least, why? Because people want to grow up being like idols mostly from their country.

yep your right. Crosby hates everyone except for himself. Honestly why should he do the today show? Maybe he's one of the ones saying USA shows should interview USA players. Who knows. What I do know is that Crosby is in half of the commercials in Canada. He shoots commercials in the off-season in his hometown so he can still do all the marketing and still see his family. NHLers get 2 months at the most for an off-season and he spends his doing Canadian commercials and interviews. Does he really need to do the today show when they could have asked Orpik an american defenceman. Or Billy Guerin.

I can't believe the people complaining about Crosby not doing interviews.

First, everyone complains that he gets jammed down our throats.

Then, he decides to decline to do these things, and you call him a piece of trash for not promoting the NHL.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't?

I'm personally glad that he isn't doing the interviews. He obviously got the hint that we're sick of hearing about him.

It's not Crosby's job to grow and promote hockey in the United States. If he can attract fans simply by being a great player, then that's good news. But Crosby has no obligation to go above and beyond the call of duty. He's paid to play hockey, which is obviously a job that he takes very seriously. His responsibilities do not extend any further than pulling on a Pittsburgh Penguins uniform every night and helping his team win hockey games.
