Okay back on topic, I heard Bruce Boudreau talk about this Oveckin hit and he said OV didn't hurt him the boards hurt him. Is Boudreau seriously that stupid? Oveckin is the guy that push him into to the fucking boards. Yeah the boards did it

Umm Campbell fell and hit the boards, not on Ovechkin, so in reality Ovechkin didn't hurt Campbell, the boards did hurt Campbell.

I know but just the way he said made me think WTF

Yea, Ovechkin's push did cause him to get injured, but the boards were obviously the reason he got hurt.

DB must have said it in a way which he implied Ovechkin didn't do jack squat or something?

It sounded like that to me.

it's kinda hard to hit someone from behind when they're facing you... soo yea pretty much all hits from behind are started by someone turning... And campbells hit was to the head, I don't know what you're seeing.

See where the white part of umbergers helmet is in contact with the dark part of campbells jersey??

Well then I'm sorry, you see what you want to see, and I can't help you.

I wouldn't consider any of these events "real" hockey.

1. Hit from behind on Daniel Briere
2. Blindside hit to the head of Dustin Brown
3. Slew-foot on Rich Peverley
4. Hit from behind on Patrick Kaleta
5. Hit from behind on Jamie Heward
6. Knee-to-Knee hit on Sergei Gonchar
7. Knee-to-Knee hit on Tim Gleason
8. Knee-to-Knee hit on Dennis Wideman
9. Hit from behind on Brian Campbell

Associated video proof here : http://www.kuklaskorner.com/index.php/t ... me_breath/ (Phil's link from earlier.)

Ovie is more than capable of playing his style of hockey WITHOUT all this thuggery. He chooses not to because the NHL doesn't punish him for it. All players need to be in full control of their sticks AND bodies at all times. Ovie should be no exception.

Nice list. To me that is not "real hockey" either, its actually coward hockey.

Add Boudreau to the list of morons I now hate in hockey. When asked about the hit, he had this to say, ""I just know there was no malice intended," Capitals coach Bruce Boudreau said. "He didn't go to hurt him. He went to hit him, and he hit him, but the hit didn't cause the damage. The boards caused the damage."

He didn't cause the damage? the boards caused the damage? really dude? REALLY!?!?!?! That's analogous to shooting someone and then saying "Well, I didn't do the damage, the BULLET did the damage" Boudreau is a fucking moron

I know it makes you wonder why he even said that. So I guess now if some guy say Kaleta hits a guy from behind Ruff should say the boards hurt him. The NHL is slowly becoming a bush league.

Pants is right Soupy hits RJ in the head but it's a clean hit right now and next year. That is not a blindside hit. They want to get rid of blindside headsots. Its not a blindside if its right in front of the guy but he has his head down.

OV is a great player, brings great energy and excitement to the game. But he can control situations like these. Sure one or two incidents here or there is fine but this many already in his career isn't a coincidence.

Bodreau WTF? OV, Semin, Varlamov and Boudreau are the reason I hate the Caps.

This game is dangerous OV puts himself more and more into the eyes of some tough guys. So Boudreau better learn how to handle him otherwise its up to the enforcers.

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Brian Campbell will miss seven to eight weeks with a broken collar bone and a fractured rib, the result of a hit from Washington Capitals' star Alex Ocvechkin.

Blackhawks team doctor Michael Terry said Tuesday that Campbell will likely avoid surgery and is expected to make a full recovery. The Blackhawks' regular season ends April 11.

Ovechkin drove Campbell into the boards from behind in the first period of Sunday's game. Campbell stayed on the ice for several minutes. Ovechkin, the NHL's leading scorer, drew a game misconduct penalty for the hit and on Monday got a two-game suspension.

And he only got two games... Im telling you the fairest way to handle this... hits like this and cookes .... your suspended as long as the player you injure is out for + 5 games... simple... and Ill bet effective.... and either ban fighting all together like the olympics or toss the stupid instigator rule and lets go back to player enforcement on the ice... the way it used to be with guys like Rob Ray and Domi... the way the system is now just causes players to get hurt...

so Washington looses Ovi for 3 games and the Blackhawks lose Campbell for 7+ weeks... How is that not a great trade-off for Washington...

thats the problem, the game is no longer up to the enforcers because of the instigator rule... toss the instigator rule and LET it be up to the players on the ice, like it was back when Rob Ray was playing...

SUNRISE, FLA. (AP)
Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin on Tuesday said he was disappointed by a two-game suspension issued for a hit on Chicago's Brian Campbell.

In a brief interview with reporters in South Florida, the two-time MVP first said he was sorry that the hit resulted in an injury for Campbell and added that he was "disappointed" it resulted in a two-game suspension. He answered just three questions before a Capitals team official ended the session.

"I think it was a like a heat of the hit," Ovechkin said, when asked if he was surprised by the league's decision. "I think it was just a little push."

In a statement posted on the team's Web site, Ovechkin said he would continue to "play hard, play with passion and play with respect for my teammates, opponents and fans" when he returned from the suspension.

"I didn't mean to make someone injured," Ovechkin told reporters. "But you know, it's a hockey game."

Ovechkin drove Campbell into the boards from behind in the first period Sunday and received a major penalty and a game misconduct. The Blackhawks defenseman stayed down for several minutes before he was able to leave the ice with a trainer. He did not return to the game.

"I just know there was no malice intended," Capitals coach Bruce Boudreau said. "He didn't go to hurt him. He went to hit him, and he hit him, but the hit didn't cause the damage. The boards caused the damage."

Campbell, who has seven goals and 31 assists this season, will miss seven to eight weeks with a broken collar bone and a fractured rib because of the hit.

Ovechkin will miss Tuesday's contest against the Florida Panthers and Thursday's game at Carolina. It is the fourth time this season that Ovechkin will miss a game against the Panthers. An upper-body injury sidelined Ovechkin for a home-and-home series in November and he was suspended when the Capitals faced Florida on Dec. 3. The Panthers still lost all three games.

"It's always tough to lose your best player," Boudreau said. "But we're a very good team. He is the MVP and all of those things ... and we can't replace him, but we've still got three good offensive lines, because we're an offensive team, and we're playing well. I'm hoping the guys will pick it up for him again."

SOOOO which was it OV, a hit or a push? If it was a hit would Campbell have gone head first into the boards... if it was a "little" push, maybe you just don't know your own strength....

I agree with the first statement, Ovie didn't "intend" to hurt Brian but his actions were reckless which caused the injury. Boudreau is such a yes man, it's sickening. I understand he needs to be or Good ole teddy would shit can him in a minute. Oh Bruce, the boards are usually the thing that causes injures more so than the hit.... NO SHIT!!!

the gun/bullet bit is not analogous to this hit. if you're using a gun, you're intending to injure the person you're pushing. if you push someone, you're pushing someone. if they hit the boards and get hurt, you're responsible, but it does not mean you intended to hurt someone.

i tackled a dude in rugby and broke his ribs. i didn't mean to. i was responsible, but i wasn't intending to injure him.
