According to CSNPhilly.com, the Flyers have reached a verbal agreement with the San Jose Sharks to acquire the signing rights to goaltender Evgeni Nabokov. The Flyers would reportedly send the Sharks a seventh-round pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft if they are able to sign Nabokov prior to July 1st when he is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent.

Interesting. I wonder what this means for Boucher and Leighton.

It means one or both are going to be gone, unless they trade emery, who still does play for them, right?

If I were Holmgren, I'd say, "Ok great, so we have a deal. Let's just hold off on this being official until Thursday then...great.".

He's slated to become a UFA July 1st, same with Leighton which I didn't know. Boucher is signed through next season.

some one want to tell me where philly is getting away with this. i mean they are going to be so high over the cap. no way nabby signs for less that 4 mill. i know they have till the season to clear the cap but your talking them possibly moving a Carter.

They're $11M under the cap but have a ton of players to sign, so you're right - someone may split.

Nabby fits well with the Flyers, a guy who is an inconsistent goalie which they love.

whoever it will be won't be coming to buffalo b/c our GM Mastermind does not deal with teams that are up against the cap

Darcy bashing makes my head :bang: I mean seriously guys all this :obscene-birdiered: at darcy for only being an above average GM makes me wonder what would happen if he put together a team as bad as Edmonton of last year... :violence-torch:

At least with Darcy we have a shot at the playoffs unlike some teams. We're on the right track, I clearly don't see why some people think he's putting together a ridiculous team, he won't ever build a dynasty, and he won't ever dismantle the team to get a number one pick. You first need to make the playoffs to win the cup. The Blackhawks had to make it last year and get knocked out before they won it this year.

and if you have a team built for the cup, you should also have one that is built to get to the playoffs.

the sabres have a tendency to build a team that can get to the playoffs but not actually succeed when it matters most.
