6706, holy shit. They outdrew the Moose last night by less than 600.

This is what the former Jets franchise has been reduced to, drawing nearly the same number of fans as the AHL team that replaced them...

I'm shocked about the Islanders. Shouldn't they have a solid fan base given their tradition and successful past.

It doesn't help them that their arena blows goats too.

Both my Grandmas, an uncle, and several of my cousins have said similar things about the state shutting down, but that driving conditions aren't really that bad, and my cousins have never lived outside of NC.

Doesn't most of your family live in the New Bern area though?

I live about 20 or so minutes from Raleigh, and it seems the Western Corridor of I95 always gets more snow then the Eastern side.

New Bern, Lexington, and Roanoke. Pretty sure Lexington had worse weather than Raleigh that day.

Some where I read that they said the attendance was really maybe 3,000 for that game and not 6,000. Fuck the Niagara Ice Dogs in the OHL get better crowds then Phoenix and their arena capacity is about 3,500.

Here's what Phoenix player, Paul Bissonnette (Biznasty) has to say about their attendance:

"morning folks. Guess we actually had more then 5000 fans for our game. Didn't realize it was dress like a seat night. Close to a sell out."

So, if you lose and nobody's there to see it, did you really lose

We can probably ask them that tonight.

Ok, they aren't quite that empty tonight.

I think the Stars are trying to rival for fewest fans in the rink. I'm watching the game against the Kings and there are MANY empty seats in this rink.

Side note, most fans there are Kings fans by the sounds of things. Kings are winning 4-1 and it sounds as if they're playing at the Staples Center judging by the fan base.

Can anyone explain why the Stars have stated to suck at drawing fans??? they had an announced attendance of 11,000 the other night but some report the attendence was actually around 4,000 and the Texas Rangers weren't playing.
