DET is believed by some to have some back-room deal with the NHL that if any team moves east, they have first crack.

Popular opinion is either NSH or CBJ moves east. I'd think NSH would just replace ATL in the Southeast.

i dont think detroit will go east. too many teams depend on playing them to generate revenue plus... only chicago of the original 6 will remain in the west.

however. did you know atlanta is further west then detroit? true story.

There's also plenty of rumblings that Glendale is going to be sued if they do this for again using public money to prop up a private business.

Goldwater doesn't really care if the Coyotes stay or if they go.

They don't want public money being used to subside a private business. That's their beef. That's why they've been involved.

I personally don't think they'll sue over the $25M payment, since it's already gone through once and they said nothing about it. However, some people that are much better connected than me think they might.

As usual, we'll see.
