B.C. minor hockey coach accused of sexual assault

"VANCOUVER - A B.C. minor hockey coach who says he's worked with such NHL stars as Pavel Bure and Jaromir Jagr has been charged with sexual assaulting a youth over a four-year period - and police are asking any other potential victims to come forward.

Dusan Benicky, 56, appeared in North Vancouver provincial court Wednesday morning to face seven counts of sexual assault.

The youth, who was one of Benicky's players but cannot be named, was 10 years old when the offences are alleged to have started in 1991.

North Vancouver RCMP said in a release they are urging other victims or anyone with related information to come forward."

There are people like this all over the place, sadly. Always have been, still are. Harsh reminder of the ugly underbelly of society.

There are many like him that we will never know about, as it's not a crime that always comes to light........

These type of people were almost always victims themselves; and levitate towards positions that enable them to become perpetrators themselves. I'll stop at this, because we could open up several other cans of worms.....
