Interesting stat on hockey central on versus.

Brodeur has had a 3 goal lead 250 times in his career.

Out of those 250 times, he has only lost ONCE!

That's pretty impressive.

barring a complete defensive breakdown (and i stress complete) a stat like that shouldnt seem that unusual. its impressive but im not to surprised.

Impressive. But it's not too impressive it doesn't happen often especially to a defensive team like NJ.

I dont find it impressive, NJ played that neutral trap defense for years and years. While he may be a good goalie, his stats are bloated based on the style of Hockey that NJ had played.

Bingo on Broduer!
That stat isn't suprising, but it is still pretty damn impressive for the team and himself.

Well if this year isn't a case for big leads getting blown, then who knows.

Calgary blew a 5 goal lead to Chicago, anything can happen and 3 goal leads aren't eve safe anymore.

Well then why aren't we, and every other team, playing a style like NJ as efficiently? Don't take all the credit from the man. :naughty:

Even with a trap a goalie still needs to stop the puck, some teams against the trap can dominate against it and it's useless against some teams.

Now it's a bit harder to completely shut down a team using the trap because the grabbing is gone.
