Yeah, the league was pissed off enough at the Pronger and Hossa deals that ran that long for no reason other than to dump the cap hit down. If this 17 year deal is true, it should generate enough outrage to get that loophole fixed.

It is also confirmed by the NY Post, that the Devils offered him that type of deal
