I don't even see why that's a penalty...it wasn't interference and it wasn't an elbow.

Also, the Red Wings are consistently one of the best teams in the NHL, so I'm pretty sure they don't need to change anything about how they play, or how they react in certain situations.

The players on the ice should have gone after Kostopoulos for it.

It's a bull shit play, and yet another form of retard hockey shown by an NHL player. You can't target the head, it's too fucking dangerous, and it's going to take someone being killed or disabled for the league to take notice. Kostopoulos should get 10-15 games for this shit, but he's probably going to get 2...at best.

It was definitely a dirty hit that needs to get a long suspension if (yeah right) the NHL is serious about cleaning up the game. As for Detroit being gutless...no. It was a bouncing puck that Stuart was not in control of, and every other Red Wing was focusing on the ice and where the puck was going next. None of them knew Stuart got hit high and cheap. For all they knew in that moment it could have been a good hit or an inadvertant high stick.

We all get to see it on a replay and know to look exactly at Stuart before/during the hit. In game speed those guys don't know what happened unless they were looking right at Stuart at the time. Now why would any of them be focused on Stuart instead of the puck? Maybe they could have gooned it up after Kostopolous left the box, but that's not their style and that stuff needs to stop anyway. Let's face it though...a suspension won't be long enough until Crosby gets rung up.

Problem is the way the headshot rule is currently written, that play was not illegal.

48.1 Illegal Check to the Head- A lateral or blind side hit to an opponent where the head is targeted and/or the principle point of contact is not permitted.

The hit was neither lateral of blindside.

He got 6 games for this.

You know, I never hear anything about drug testing in the NHL. Clearly they have some (twice a year from what google tells me) But I never hear about people failing tests, I gotta think SOME of these guys are roiding out in some way, perhaps strict drug enforcement = less hormonal insanity = less injuries from clearly dangerous and intentional bullshit?

Anyone know if the NHL's drug policy is as strictly enforced as other sports? Maybe I just dont pay enough attention to hockey news, do people often get caught using 'performing enhancing' stuff?

I hate the Red Wings, every one of them. Datsyuk, Zetterberg, I don't care. These aren't men.

Nothing, I didn't include him because I thought you only said Datsyuk and Lidstrom.

I would think if someone was roided out in hockey, their body just wouldn't be able to move at such a high fluid motion so their wouldn't be any point to taking steroids in hockey. That's just me, and no one is really that huge to make it look like anyone would be taking them.
