I hate this argument. Sure, they have old players. Holmstrom, Lidstrom, Rafalski. Datsyuk and Zetteburg are only 30 and 32. They still perform amazingly. Obviously their age doesn't get in the way of their play.

How many Red Wings from its 1997 team still active on the current team with 4 championships?

Osgood was excluded because he was traded during the 2001-2002 season to the Islanders.

They have a great mix of veteran's, prime aged, and young players.

I'm watching the game right now. I'll give the Sharks credit for trying to skate man to man with the Wings, but my god it's almost not fair when they get the puck low and start to cycle. They may be old, but they know how to work on the ice. In some cases, you just need to work smarter, not harder.

The Big Pavelski strikes again

(Might as well turns this into a SJS/DET series thread)

Watching the game last night still makes me think they are too old. San Jose dominated quite a bit last night.

DET loses again 2-1. Sharks now up 2-0 in the series.

Detroit outplayed the Sharks for a good portion of today's game. Real defensive on either side though.

Even i think the old wings can still make this a series. They did play a lot better in game 2 then they did game 1

Yeah but it wasn't as bad as game 1.

Anyone else really surprised with the Washington/Tampos and Detroit/San Jose series? What the hell is happening...hahaha!

I'm not surprised one bit with the San Jose and Detroit series.

San Jose beat Detroit last year in 5 games.

The Tampa and Washington one I am a bit. But the last game was a bit of luck for the Lightning.

i guess that was some other team in san jose jersey cycling the puck and keeping the puck in the zone the majority of the game while detroit failed to clear the zone time after time after time.

who knew!

I got my zones mixed up then. Thought you meant Detroit had that control.
