Nah, I tried to delete it before anyone responded. Instead I'll go back and edit it to be a quote :)

I kind of feel bad for Byfuglien...you win the Cup in a place that's sold out every night!. I can just picture him with the BHawks flag on his back skating around in Philly, and now he is going to the worst place to play hockey IN THE WORLD!

Maybe people don't want what Darcy is offering.

So when Darcy makes a trade are we going to bitch about how we didn't get value?

Byfuglien is a 40 point per year player, and he's going to get Ryan Malone money. Sopel is just another word for pylon, and Eager is a goon that can somewhat play hockey.

All in all Atlanta traded a draft pick and prospect for a bunch of leftovers. It doesn't save Chicago from their cap troubles really, and it just fortifies a team all ready chuck full of 3rd line players.

All in all it's a trade where no team really gave up a ton of value (as there are no elite scoring prospects past pick 5 in this draft); and no team really got a ton of value. If both GM's are happy then great; but I dont know why everyone thinks Buffalo lost out on any of this.

It would have been our first, (a second we dont have) Adam, and maybe Gragnani going to Chicago for the same package...to me I'm quite content not making a move like that.

Yep and I can't believe that the Hawks found a suitor to get rid of salary like that and maybe the Hawks might not need to get rid of Sharp now.

Actually Chicago is very smart. They got rid of Byfuglien who had a great playoff run like Torres did back when. Plus come on people Byfuglien was playing with Toews and Kane for most of the playoffs. Yes they might lose some of his physical presence but Kyle Beach is probably someone that they are looking to fill Byfuglien role. He's a big power forward who can score. Now onto the trade they got a first rounder and Morin. Morin is a pretty darn good prospect. So they got rid of 3 mediocre players for prospects and players. Chicago still has the core players in place and Sharp isn't going anywhere. This team will be set and still will be very good without those 3 players but I think they are going to be even better in years to come with the moves they have made.

Finally I have someone on my side about this trade:clap:

No one said Chicago was going to collapse after this trade, so I dunno what you're talking about. It was a salary dump to keep their truly-productive players, and we all know it.

OK, look. Atlanta stole some serviceable players from Chicago. Those guys may be throwaways on other teams, but they're SURELY an upgrade over a lot of what Atlanta has now. They gave up a couple of picks and Marty Reasoner? Reasoner ain't shit.

From the start, everyone knew this was a salary dump. If we're all on the same page that this was a salary dump to keep their core intact, then we're all of the same mind.

Mechaphil not trying to start anything or disagree with you in anyway but I agree Atlanta got some upgrades over what they have now but I think Chicago got the better deal out of this. Morin is a pretty darn good prospect and a 1st rounder. They have Beach probably going to take Buff's spot and he's probably a much better skater than buff is. Eager is a 4th line energy guy and Sopel is a 5-6 defenseman.
Chicago already has prospects in the system and I think Chicago will be better in the near future than they were this year. No wonder why Mike Bossy said Chicago might be the making of a dynasty.

Oh, I agree with what their roles are for sure. No mistaking that. Just think that they're definite upgrades and show that the Thrashers are willing to blow it up and remake the team with a new GM and new head coach.

I agree. Atlanta definetly upgraded their team for next year. But losing Morin and that first rounder might hurt them in the long haul.

I guess they're thinking Byfuglien took a bit longer to develop NHL skills because of his bulk(happens with big guys, and some teams run out of patience; cap too!!)

I'd take this gamble, seeing I'm getting like the 54th pick back. Seems people are dismissing Dustin as a flash in the pan already. I'm not. I'm with Phil on this one. Possible rape for ATL.
