The funny ones amuse me, but I'm still gonna go with my current time-tested format of "Source: Subject". IE, "TSN: Ellis waived, Mancari/Gragnani clear waivers"

Well I'm sorry if I don't want to be bland about my topic titles.

I like fun and stupid thread titles. A bit better then just seeing injury, it makes me intrigued to find out what this thread title means then.

If I just see a thread title of Brian Campbell Injured, well I don't need to go venturing into the thread because the title explains it all.

It's not being bland, it's the whole purpose of a message board...post the topic of the title, then if someone wants to discuss it, they click on it and make a post.

From now on I'm just gonna title all my threads FREE SEX, and that way you'll all be forced to click on them to find out what happened!

I just think the more interesting topic titles are the ones people would rather click on.

Maybe it's just me, maybe it's not.

LOL. The fact that an inventive title pisses people off is hilarious. If the title still deals with the article, that's great. If you decide to offer free vaginal lick festivals, or sex from afar, and the thread is really about the new sabres jerseys... That's when you can officially complain.

A thread title that has a pun or something humorous is one thing if you can at least have a clue about what the thread is about.

Not to single out SabreWolf, but the ones like 'Thrashing Bergfors' or 'Belanging it up, Desert style.' just don't make a lick of sense.

Reading into it to find out what it is takes so much work! It's just way too much to ask.

Thats basically what I meant with my post Squanto. Maybe I'm missing the point others are making that it's OK if it's comical and still clues you into the topic. i.e. Lynch lynched from Bills roster ?

I dunno. If there's an opportunity for a pun, I say go for it. It's just annoying when it's jammed in there for the sake of being there.

That's what she said.

Yeah, what's the big deal with "creative" titles or titles that use puns. News sources use puns/cutesy titles for their stories, too.

A misleading title like "FREE SEX!" that is used just for the sake of people clicking to read your topic isn't the same as someone using a pun in their titles that's relative to the story. Everyone knows Campbell's nickname is Soupy.
