9). Toronto Leafs - Headed in right direction? We'll see.

Ouch. Not too bad of a description though.

14). Atlanta Thrashers - Some say they could surprise. Seriously?

I actually kind of thought those two might be interchangeable.

All they need to do is arrange a game against the Bills....

That would not be bad, either.

Looks like the Leafs are facing relegation down to the AHL (along with the Islanders). Who do we bring up to replace them? The San Antonio Rampage are off to a good start. As are the Amerks.

...you make a good point for having two leagues, like in European Football - A Premier League, and that below.

Demotion and promotion depending upon prior season's record.

:D

I don't think a relegation system would work in the US. We have too large a sense of entitlement, that our team deserves support, praise, coverage, whatever regardless of performance.

How pissed would you be, with our devoted fanbase, if we were demoted?

Plus relegation could potentially cripple already financially unstable teams, or present an unfair advantage to larger markets.

LEAFS' EARLY STRUGGLES STIR MEMORIES OF NHL'S WORST SEASONS

"Unfortunately for Leafs fans, there are no scapegoats below them in the standings. Even last year's bottom-dwelling New York Islanders squad, who are also without a victory so far this season, have managed three overtime/shootout losses, giving them two more points than the lowly Leafs."

Might just be my thinking, but regardless of who the team is, as long as they have more points than the Laffs it's a win win situation.

1st Win= They have more points than the Laffs
2nd Win= They can be thankfull they're not a member of this train wreck, lol.
