Hedberg? Really?

He's an upgrade over Lalime by a wide margin, and is pretty lights out during the shootout in case he's in a game that goes to one. So, yes, really.

i always like hedberg, except the 2001 playoffs (curse you kasperitus)

he is the modern day craig billington (refering to the day when the gap between most starters and backups abilities were huge)

anyone else notice that? in the late 90s, goaltending was a much bigger issue then it is now. now theres a lot of parity.

Fuck Hedberg, Iceberg, Hamburg, and anything elseburg. I want Marty...nothing more, nothing less.

Biron, there is no substitute.

Exactly my thinking, which is why my rationale tells me to look at other attractive-to-the-system goaltenders. Hence, my desire to see Moose as a Sabre.

Does it have an ETC-5 shots of Pendleton rating?

Don't get me wrong, ETC, if Marty were to come back, I'd jump out of my skin with joy. Can you imagine all the old 00 and 43 jerseys showing up at the arena again for his first game as a Sabre again? Grown men would weep tears of joy (I might, too).

I just don't believe it will happen is all.

If Biron came back, it would be Grier x3, at least.

Stop being so cocky to think he will be back.

We have a backup under contract already, even if he sucks, we have one. Biron won't come back until at least next year if at all.

Stop counting your chickens before they hatch.

Dipietro to begin practicing today. Marty time is near, my friends...

Quote:
Tomorrow will be the first time rehabbing goaltender Rick DiPietro practices with the team, Scott Gordon said.

While the full group will not be on the ice at IceWorks in Syosset tomorrow--since the Islanders will arrive in New York late after tonight's game--DiPietro's participation tomorrow will be viewed as the next significant step in his rehabilitation.

"Everything has gone according to plan," Gordon said before Monday's game against Toronto. "This isn't anything unexpected. We'd be disappointed if he wasn't on the ice soon."

DiPietro, who began skating in August for the first time since suffering a season-ending knee injury last year, has taken gradual steps adherent to a strict rehab protocol throughout the past two months. This development indicates he is progressing steadily toward his return.

After DiPietro practices with the team, he will eventually head to Bridgeport for a conditioning stint, during which he'll likely play 2-5 games before making his 2009-2010 debut.
