One of these years this cap shit is gonna catch up with Philly. Ive never seen a team that pays out the nose for so many guys year in and year out and still manages to squeak in under the cap....its nutty.

I know what you mean, every time they sign somebody I'm like "How?! How do they still have cap space!?".

Right? They must have some fuckin dudes from MIT running their cap numbers over there.......

Brett Lebda signed in Toronto for two years. It didn't even occur to me he was still playing. Apparently he was with the Red Wings last season.

kaberle is going to be traded. though i dont see why they dont try him as a winger. toronto defense is pretty solid.

Mike is right about Phaneuf - when he came into that dressing room, he transformed the mood in the room and rallied the troops. People need to remember that after Phaneuf and Giguere came to Toronto, they went on a pretty hot run.

Toronto's defense, while not spectacular, will be much better than last season.

I do not see Toronto making it, lots of teams that were ahead of them are improved like Tampa and Florida

Huh? What in gods name did EITHER of those two teams do to improve over the moves Burke has made? I gotta hear this one....

Tampa has improved a lot. By bringing in Ellis in net and fixing the defense, Tampa's offense will be able to win them games instead of struggling to keep them in games.

But Florida ain't done shit.

I still don't see their top 6 forwards being good enough for them to make the playoffs.

Especially since Toronto could easily be the worst team in the division.

Well if you actually looked at those teams right now before posting a stupid comment like this. Burke has upgrading by getting a 7th d man (lebda) and a third line player (armstong), that is not a whole lot for a team that needs to probably overhaul the entire team

They were close last year also, then they just failed.

The team is better with Giguere in net, but they won't make the playoffs this year either.

Tampa was so much closer, the Hurricanes were one of the hottest teams in 2010, Florida was real close once again, but I see them falling a bit after losing Horton, who knows though.
