I heard on XM that little Danny got suspended for two games for a hit last night. I was surprised it wasn't another nad spearing or something of that nature. Can anyone confirm this or post a clip of the hit? |

Here is the story from TSN. The NHL has handed Philadelphia Flyers' forward Dan Briere a two-game suspension for his hit on Colorado's Scott Hannan during the Avs' victory on Monday. After scoring to give Colorado a 4-2 lead, Hannan was blindsided by Briere who left his feet and drove his elbow into Hannan's neck. Hannan was forced to leave the ice and did not return. Briere was not penalized on the play as it appears that no on-ice official saw the incident. Despite playing in just 17 games, Briere is leading the Flyers with 10 goals. If he chooses not to appeal, he will miss Wednesday's game against the Islanders and Friday's against Buffalo. He would be able to return in time for Sunday's tilt with the Thrashers. |

Well, if Ovechkin didn't try to change Briere's breathing habits from "active" to "not applicable", I doubt he would have gone that route. I think we all remember Briere getting blown up by AO. |

Sure do, and I remember the refs doing all they could to prevent Gaustad from fighting Ovechkin. I wish there was a video of this Briere hit on Scott Hannan...from the writing, it sounds really bad. |

Wish there was a better clip. Was Hannan really hurt? As stupid of a hit as it was, it didn't look like it particularly phased him too much. Still celebrated the goal lol. |

Hmmm, seemed more borderline on the timing...but obviously led with the elbow. Guess Briere is slowly morphing into what being a Philadelphia Flyer player is supposed to be. |

A bitch! Exactly right, Phil. When his contract was up, there was no way we were keeping this one-dimensional, defensive liability who is always at the bottom of his team in +/-. If you hate Quinn and Regier, fine, but don't bitch about them not giving Briere $5 million "when they had the chance". They were 100% correct when they let him go. |
