With really bad starts in Carolina and Edmonton, does anyone see Maurice or Quinn getting fired any time soon?

They discussed Maurice on HNIC's Hot Stove segment. They said there would be player movement before Maurice was fired. This was before the second straight game of a third period collapse, however. I think he will be fired. Quinn will be allowed to get Khabibulin back before he is on the "endangered species list", IMHO.

Maurice is just a bad coach, he should not be in the NHL.

He did a nice job for a couple years with the Canes in his first stint. He lost the team and was replaced by Laviolette. Since then, he has not done a good job in Toronto, or in his return to Carolina.

He's AHL bound if you ask me.

Maurice is working with what he has - An aging defensive corps and a shell-shocked and nicked goaltending tandem.

Blame it on the "higher-ups" - And he was suffering the sterling management, and their "non-confidence" in JFJ, in Toronto.

He may need to grow some teeth, to get better out of his team.

Quinn will quit, if it gets ugly - He just doesn't need the shit and the health problems he suffered in the Toronto system.

He's just way too experienced and old and unimpressed with all the crap.

Neither team seems in a hurry to make a move, because of their wishy-washy GM's and their dishwater fanbases.

They ain't in Montreal. I'd expect to see heads roll, there - First and foremeost. Gainey's days are numbered, as are his coaching staff's.

Maurice is having to deal with what he has, plenty of injuries to key players, and an aged defensive corp and a captain who is on his last leg.
