Watching NJ and Tampa Bay with shot totals of 10 - 6 at the halfway point (IN THE FUCKING GAME),

or watching 80 minutes of Montreal's ceremony?

Should have started a poll, but I'm too bored to even do that. Thank god the Sabres are playing tomorrow!!

Hahaha, the Montreal ceremony was real nice and all, but jesus it was one damn long ceremony.

Did the ceremony involve the crucifiction of Bob Gainey? It would seem appropriate.... :)

That Montreal ceremony was LONG. Ugh. Glad the game finally started.

Anyone else think it was pretty damn goofy to have Patrick Roy skate out in uniform? I didn't watch it so I don't know if any other former players were in uniform. I sure hope not.

They should have just let Patrick Roy play net for them also.

Seems like they dominated pretty solidly that game.

They must have taken notes from being spanked by the Sabres.

So wasn't LAST year supposed to be Montreal's Centennial year or whatever?

That was in dog years. They've moved on to celebrating their 100th in cat years.

Only two more species to go...

Wow. You guys are brutal.

When the initial team hit the ice, you saw: Pete Mahovlich, Rejean Houle, Frank Mahovlich, Ken Dryden, Yvan Cournoyer, Guy Lapointe, Guy Lafleur, Larry Robinson, Serge Savard, Steve Shutt, Patrick Roy, Yvan Lambert, Doug Jarvis, Guy Carbonneau, Mats Naslund, Claude Lemieux, Stephane Richer, Eric Desjardins, Mike Keane, Lyle Odelein, Vincent Damphousse, Pierre Turgeon, etc...etc..etc...

Here I was thinking it was just a warm-up...and these legends of the game take the ice - I was stunned.

I got pretty choked up, seeing these fierce warriors back in uniform and taking shots at Roy and Dryden.... But, then again, my memories stretch back further than most of yours.

It was incredibly nostalgic to see all these players that I had hated and loathed so much in their day - man, did I absolutely hate some of those teams and the way they ripped the heart out of me - come out together after so many years. It made me a kid, again.

Seeing Howe and Beliveau together. Man, oh man. Magnificent. I wish I'd have been there.

In spite of it seeming to drag on for a while, this old dude enjoyed it tremendously.

Oh, well - Different strokes...

I remember their 75'th; who could forget Aurel Joliat skating around with a cap on, and a cigar in his mouth? Kind of sad to see him trip over the mat though. I remember Aurel declining Ric Seiling's offer to help him up, he just got up and skated again on his own. He must have been well into his seventies at the time....

Man oh man Ice,

I grew up watching Hockey Night in Canada when it was always Toronto vs Montreal on a Saturday night - don't know who made the schedule up in those days!!

I loved seeing Sittler and Salming against LaFleur and company, but I just think those ceremonies should be 10-15 minutes, or for a monumental ceremony like the Canadiens 100th, 100yr ceremony, belong on a different venue than a pregame show - it takes too much away from the game that is about to be played, and it did drag on a bit.

2cents from another old dude

I only remember the past 10 years or so Ice, so different times and such.

But it most likely should have been played on some other day, or at least not for a pregame if it lasted as long as some of you have said.
