As of right now, the Northeast division has 4 teams represented in the top 8 in the conference. That's pretty impressive for the division. Perhaps it's shaking out to be a tougher division than previously thought. The best part? Toronto is the only party pooper. Ham |

Well, this is also a testament of other teams and divisions. Moreso the Atlantic Division which was represented by four teams in the past two years or so with New Jersey, Penguins, Rangers, and the Flyers. but two of those four teams have sucked it up this year, and the Southeast has a bit of resurgenc with Tampa and Atlanta, and the NE is tight just like always. |

toronto, as i was pointing out in a different thread, is white hot right now..dont look now, but they are only 5 points out of a playoff spot with a game in hand over current 8th place team montreal. |

The only reason the Leafs are that close is the stupid 1 points for shootouts and OT. |

Everyone was calling the Northeast division one of the weakest in hockey this year. Sure doesn't look that way right now. |

No one can ever really predict how a devision is going to do based on past years because anything can happen, injured players, team isnt in sync, it all really depends... |

New acquisitions also help or sometimes they do nothing. Without Gaborik, were do you think the Rangers place right now? |
