Man these guys are tough. I want to see what some of the other NHL players have. I want an x-ray of Terry Sawchuk.

BTW, the reason I posted this is because I read it here in the paper, and I really like that x-ray picture :D

That is crazy, that X-ray looks out of a scary movie or something.

Well people who have metal plates in their body are given a card that explains why they beep, but I don't think titanium gets detected by a metal detector, most of the time the new plates they put in people aren't detected so a person with those plates couldn't get away with a gun.

Plus the cards tell you where it's located so they use the metal wand on that to make sure.

That's because he's a giant punching bag. Fedoruk has to be the worst fighter in the NHL hands down. I think his first mistake was being named "Todd."

Well he'd have to be exhumed to be x-rayed! :D

Someone took a picture of Terry Sawchuk and highlited all of the scars. It was alarming, to say the least. If I can find it, I will post it.

I remember them saying that former Sabres defenseman Doug Barrie's face resembled a road map.

His crouching "gorilla" stance kept him low to the ice positionally, which led to a host of face-to-face encounters with the puck. Playing his first 12 seasons without a mask, Sawchuk accumulated a patchwork of more than 400 stitches on his face and head (including three on his right eyeball). Other debilitating injuries included broken bones, concussions, a spinal condition called lordosis – which is an abnormal forward curvature in the lumbar region – and a shoulder injury that prevented him from lifting his right arm above chest-level. Any of those injuries singularly could force an average player into early retirement, but Sawchuk played on.

The guy endured an awful lot; and awful lot.
