Over the last 9 years the Islanders had some pretty good players that they sent away on trades. the best of the bunch...Jokinen, Luongo, Spezza, and Chara. if they had held on to these players, they might actually be a legit NHL team.

Man, a lot of Isles fans have probably lost a lot of sleep thinking about that.

Talking about the Islanders and what could have been makes me more depressed than dwelling on the 2006 ECFs.

Kicked and gutted just a few times, years apart... But Islanders fans? Over and over and over.

The Sabres also ripped off the islander for Connolly, just saying ;)

The Isles issues began when they traded away Dave Scratchard.....

Well at the time of those trades, no one suspected them players to turn into superstars really, none of them were doing all that great at that time anyways.

But once they left the Islanders, they all took off.

Maybe the water is tainted in Nasau?

Possibly is, but Jokinen never took off until the lockout ended, and right now we hear of nothing about him in Calgary.

Well, Mike Milbury is the one to blame for most of this dumbass trades, to even hear that he is one of the possible coaches to come back if a coach is fired is one of the stupidest things I have heard.

Too bad they traded away Ziggy Palffy...I loved watching him play and couldn't see him much when he went to LA.
