The Washington Capitals have traded defenceman Milan Jurcina to the Columbus Blue Jackets. Returning to the Capitals in the deal is still unknown.

Drafted by the Boston Bruins in the eight round (241st overall) in 2001, Jurcina was traded to the Capitals for a fourth round selection in 2008. In 27 games this season, the Liptovsky Mikulas, Slovakia, native has zero goals and four assists.

Details to follow.

I dunno, Ovie doesn't seem like he'd make a great captain.

They cleared at least two million in cap with this. Watch for Washington to make another move.

Yeah. Did some math, and Washington's got about 4.5 million to work with while remaining under the cap after this deal. Excepting another trade within the next few days, if not, today.

Yeah, I think the lead by example mantra only goes so far though.

Sure ovie is the most passionate player in the game today, but nothing about him really screams leader to me. Would Matt Ellis make a good captain? He's certainly a hard worker, but I dunno.

My guess with this trade that they will name either Morrison, Poti or Green as the captain or maybe even Knuble

How much has the trading in hockey slowed down to, that we are discussing Washington making a trade simply to open up salary cap space? Three pretty irrelevent players (though Clark was more than a role player prior to last season, and his reduced role was largely due to injuries).

Come on; we need a good trade to talk about!!

I only knew who Chris Clark was b/c I scored a game winner with him on NHL '03 when he was on Calgary and my pissed off friend was like..."Chris Clark, huh?"
