do you guys remember Zubrus? I was a fan when he was here but not a big one. Was he good? Why did he get traded? |

he got traded to us for added grit if i remember correctly when the sabres where going for the cup in that bad year to remember that we lost briere and drury. and he walked away and signed with new jersey. |

He walked away because the price tag was high and the production was low. |

He came in at the trade deadline as a "rent-a-player" so we had added depth in scoring, and walked away during the summer. |

I liked Zubrus. He could hit and was intimidating. No one pushed him around on the ice. At least that is how he came off to me when he played for us. |

He could hang onto the puck while being pushed around - An expensive guy with mad skills and little motivation. The hip-check he laid on Jagr, during the '07 semi-finals was a pure classic. Jaromir went ass over tea-kettle, and he's no slouch and a very BIG man. Dainus owned him. I liked him, at the time. He did well with Drury and Vanek on his line. A good blend of responsibility, raw talent and determination. The Devils seem to have cast their lot with him, fairly long-term. He hasn't been spectacular, but he hasn't been bad. Gritty clutch goals. |
