That said, it's too fast to see whether or not he left his feet before there was contact. It looks like he may have, but players go airborne from high speed collisions all the time.

Morency Suspended

"New York Islanders forward Pascal Morency has been suspended indefinitely pending a hearing early next week.

Morency left the Islanders' bench and charged Flames defenceman Dion Phaneuf in the second period of Thurday night's 5-4 Flames win, after Phaneuf leveled Islanders' forward Kyle Okposo.

Morency was issued a game misconduct after the small fracas on the ice.

Okposo, who was taken off the ice on a strecher, is said to have a mild concussion, but no other physical damage from the check."

He'll get a game...ill-timed move. (Good show of "team" - But, still a bad move.)

clean hit. amazing hit.

what didnt help Morency is that he actally left the bench with out a stick. i think there was going to be a line change or the islander could at least argue that because several players were just about at the bench as the hit occured, but him leaving with out a stick just screwed him.

This is the kind of hit we all grew to love from one of the best (if not the best) in the game at the open ice hit. Scott Stevens.

So many have said that Dion left his feet, used an elbow...what the fuck ever. The guy is a beast and the fool he pasted should consider himself "Dion'd". My only problem with the hit is what came after. Phaneuf didn't drop the gloves to complete the spat. Other than that, keep'em coming Dion!
