One of my favorite Sabres, despite the messy divorce and "I'm determined to get what I want" bullshit.

So long Peca...although you may have left on bad terms, you did a lot for this team, and I wish him well in all his future plans.

I had the biggest crush on him when he was a Sabre. Oooh did he know how to grow a beard. I saw him a few months ago at work, and he stills know how to rock that scruff. Yeeeoww.

Peca was the man.

It was an ugly ending in Buffalo, but he was a great asset while he was here.

At first it seemed like we gave Mogilny away, but I was somewhat pleasantly surprised at what Peca brought.

Adios amigo.

Peca's hockey pants are on the ground.

All the middle-aged ladies loved him, too. My stepmother was a Mike Peca puck bunny extraordinaire.

Yes...I do believe he was my first hockey crush. When I saw him a few months ago, I was tempted to tell him how I had the biggest crush on him when I was a kid, except I thought it would have been awkward seeing as he was with his wife and kids. ;)

"You can't fire me; I quit!!" Amusing how both Peca and Curtis Joseph "retired" after they found no takers on their services. Still, both were warriors, and I say let them walk away with their heads held high.

Peca was a great asset here, an energy guy with grit, who was capable of providing 20+ goals per season; many of them timely. His gave his all on the ice, and as he wasn't a very big guy, this cut his career as a productive player short.

Enjoy your retrement Mike; you've earned it.

Sorry to see him leave the game but I'm sure his kids teammates are reaping the benefits of him being their coach. He (like so many other players) refuses to leave the Buffalo area. Says alot for the area, that's for sure.

It's a phrase that basically means, if you wanna see the Sabres at the top, turn the rankings.
