Quote:
The injury woes for the Philadelphia Flyers at the goaltender position took another hit on Thursday with news that Michael Leighton will miss 8-10 weeks with a high ankle sprain.

Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren made the announcement on Thursday, meaning the team's Stanley Cup hopes now lie with Brian Boucher.

The Flyers will need to win a couple of playoff series to give Leighton a chance to return to the lineup.

The Flyers' starter at the beginning of the season was Ray Emery, who is out for the year after undergoing hip surgery earlier this month.

How attractive do the Flyers look as a 1st round opponent now?

Speaking of high ankle sprains, this story reminds me that Enroth is out with one :(

I'll do up a post in the Sabres Prospects forum.

Also, yea, there's blood in the water and the sharks are getting ready to circle.

The Flyers look very attractive to anyone now.

I feel bad for Leighton though, he's doing really great this year, because when he was the backup in Carolina, Oh god was he awful. You could pencil him in for a loss whenever he started, same with Lalime.

Grahme is playing in the KHL for Avangard Omsk.

Actually he's back in the AHL for Philly's team, he's still on an AHL contract though.

Really?

Well, he was also one of the backups on Carolina you could always count on a loss also.
