What was almost as interesting about that "fight" is what led up to it. Kane gave Crosby two good body checks in the 1st period, but one might have been a little late. No penalty was called on Kane, but Crosby got his lace in a bunch and took a cross-checking penalty on Kane afterward. The rest of the Pens then commenced to have a mental meltdown and went running all around the ice after Kane every time he was on the ice. Goddard took a roughing on Kane, Rupp got a misconduct at the same time. The 2nd period started and then Cooke went high on Kane along the glass, got in his face and challenged Kane to the fight. Kane dropped him like the punk that he is, and Kennedy later took a slashing penalty on Kane. The whole thing was like Kaleta times ten. That's the kind of team Pittsburgh is right now with Crosby as their "captain". Is their anything more ironic than this crap coming from the team/player that put Savard out with a blind-side - losing their composure that way over a couple legal body checks to their whiny puss bag chief crybaby?? |

Not slanted at all. A clean hit that is just a little late, and I do mean "a little", is not something to have a meltdown over. It would be different if it were a dirty hit, but that's not what happened. Crosby is a whiny immature player that has taken many a documented cheap shot at other players. I don't agree with the mentality of going after any player that hits your "star", especially with a clean hit. Every player, even the "stars" need to man up and take a clean hit like a big boy instead of resorting to BS behind the play and after the whistle. Drop the gloves when someone goes cheap, but otherwise this crap has infected hockey for a few seasons too long. Goalies are different, and the main complaint with Buffalo is how they respond after Miller gets bumped/hit. That's a different issue. "Not the "take your head out of the game, take dumb penalties" or "get knocked out" aspects, but the ACTUALLY STANDING UP FOR A TEAMMATE part." Pittsburgh took their head out of the game and took dumb penalties, and Cooke got EXACTLY what he deserved for his (and the team's) BS antics. More undisciplined play from the Pens. Crosby takes a shoulder from Spezza, Kunitz immediately charges Spezza and takes a penalty, Ottawa promptly scores on the PP. If Crosby wasn't such a whiner, could take hits like a man, and show his teammates that they don't have to take penalties for him, they might be a better team, not need Cooke's type of BS, and be a little more respected. |
