Looks like a big clean hit to me.... But then here's what the local douche reporter says to him about it |

The reporter should have been respectful and ask him if he thinks he got the elbow up, but Sutton really is trying to cover the elbow up. |

I'd call the reporter a douche, but Sutton's on Ottawa, and anyone messing with a Senator is A-OK in my book |

It was a clean hit, i'd be annoyed as hell if I was dealing with that reporter. "Did you know you got your elbow up?" I know what i'm doing you fucking twat, look again, elbow was not up. That reporter is a freaking tool. Of course he was being a tool to a SENATOR...so...meh. |

I don't know I'm pretty sure he had the elbow up, or it wouldn't have done much damage. |

Dude, if someone is just running straight forward, and i'm running in the other direction right at them...and they dont see me, and I smash into them with my arm bent and AT MY SIDE, they're going to get fucking destroyed just like Leopold-lookatthepuck did. KEEP YOUR FUCKING HEAD UP or get rocked. Clean hit. |

That's not hockey, that's trying to kill someone and getting away with it. Sometimes, I would like to throw a wrench at someone and when they ask why, I will say keep your head up. |

Here is my only issue with the hit...he hits him without his hands on the stick, and elevates his stick. It's nothing overly dirty, but there is no chance to elbow somebody if you keep both hands on the stick, and keep your stick in play. All that being said; this hit is clean to me, far cleaner than his one on Stafford where he went from low to high. This hit was dead on center, and an attempt to drive the player backwards instead of into the boards head first. Clean play, physical play, and the NHL never calls charging, so it's all good by their standards |

Blueandyellow...what the fuck is your deal? Watch the replay, he DOES NOT drive his elbow into Leopolds head. Christ, i'm done talking about this shit with you if you just absolutely refuse to open your freaking eyes. And stop saying "Thats not hockey"...clearly that IS hockey, we witnessed that IN A FREAKING HOCKEY GAME, that determines what hockey is, not some dude on a message board. |

There is no wiggle room there, what happens ON THE ICE is what determines 'what' hockey is. Not some ideal of gentlemen gliding around showing each other utter respect, what actually happens. Hockey is Bertuzzi being a fucking goon. Who has the evidence or argument to deny that? How can you tell me hockey is anything other than that which we see with our own eyes? |

YankeeInRaleigh, if your going to turn into a complete brute about an argument on the internet, I wont even talk here. It's not worth having someone spazz out. |

How can you tell me hockey is anything other than that which we see with our own eyes? I suppose the whole point of this discussion and, well, forums in general isn't what hockey is... but our differing opinions about what hockey should be. If you want to have an argument about whether or not what happens on the ice is technically hockey by definition, I have a feeling it'll be a short and particularly uninteresting conversation. I assumed you would prefer to go the more interesting angle, but I was quite wrong. |

Looks borderline if anything. Leopold should have had his head up for sure. And it does look like Sutton's elbow left his body a bit before the collision |
