Contract considerations aside.....I'm removing who I think are the twelve most obvious players in the league......from that point, I wanna know who you want most. Any one uneducated hockey "guru" can claim they want Crosby, Malkin and Ovie...... The idea is to debate who are the best players in the NHL that people DO NOT straight blow everytime their names come up in conversation..... Who would you want 1st overall if all of these guys were gone? And if this experiment works.....we'll do Defense next.... Off Limits Offense: 1. Crosby 2. Ovechkin 3. Malkin 4. Kane 5. Kovalchuk 6. Datsyuk 7. Zetterberg 8. Toews 9. Stamkos 10. Kopitar 11. Sedins (count as one person) 12. Nash |

Dustin Brown, no doubt. Can build around the guy. He has good scoring ability and can bring a good amount physically to the game. |

Doan, Parise, Iginla, Brown. My top 4 in no particular order. These guys have some form of ability in both ends of the rink, and you can build a team around them. |

Aside from all the superstars we will never get, I actually want Kennedy from Pittsburgh. He shows real hustle, has a bit of a dangler side, and can really skate. He reminds me of a taller Ennis with more experience and point totals. |

I wouldn't mind a Doughty and Myers pair at all. As much as we hate him, imagine a shutdown line of Chara and Myers, the two tallest players in the league and both can score and defend. Oh what a pair that could be. |

Nicklas Backstrom please. He's overshadowed in Washington due to the presence of Ovechkin, but he is so dynamic offensively and does all the little things right as well. |

luke schenn. hes going to be a shut down guy to the max. myers will be better overall, but i believe schenns defense will be the best in the NHL. id also kill for milan lucic. hes what? 21? |
