just an opinion piece, but hes 40, and hes not the same player he was a few seasons ago. im guessing he retires. either way, if he does retire, kudos to him for a GREAT career. hes set the benchmark for overseas defensemen.

Basically, and if he comes back next year I wonder what he would command or ask?

Maybe he would take league min and incentives to help with bringing back Hudler, and to resign a few other guys.

Hell of a career for him, 4 cup rings and 3 time Norris winner.

the wings have tons of cap space to deal with, he wont need to take the league min. its 13 million free, and thats WITH hudlers salary included.

Well Lidstrom is off the books for 7 Million though, he's a huge reason for there to be 13 million left over.

We'll see how it plays out though.

I never strongly liked or dislike him. Good for him to have such a great career. Really won't miss him.

I'm sure he can still play, but what is there else to accomplish?
