I think getting some more European refs in the league might not be a bad thing. The NHL and its officiating feels like the mob sometimes. Ey we lika da malkin. No suspensionni for da malkin. The more new blood the better. |

I think Alex is on to something, and it's something he's touched on in his blog - the NHL referees and linesmen are like a mafia who call the game as they see fit, not necessarily along the letter of the law. Bringing in an official from Europe might - and this is a very small chance - help change the culture of NHL officiating. |
