If I could bet, I would totally drop some money on Keith taking the Norris at those odds.

I can understand 5:1 odds, but 11:4? 9:2? WTF

Ditto

Also, to me Kesler deserves this years Selke! I've watched a lot of Nucks games this season (he was great in the olympics too) and he is just fantastic in all 3 zones, tremendous devotion to defense. It's close, I'm not saying Datsyuk isn't good but this year Kesler was right there with him and a little bit better IMO.

I would not have a problem with Crosby winning the Hart, I watched him all season for the Pens and this has been his best pro season, even better then his highlight reel goal laden MVP winning season a couple of years ago. Every weakness to his game was addressed and improved upon, and he carried the Penguins many a night, providing tireless inspiration by spurring them on with straight up hard work and determination. I know everybody is sick of hearing about him, but this was definitely his most MVP worthy season to date.

They don't need to know anything about the sport; that's not how Vegas works. Lines and odds are a factor of where the money is going. If one choice is getting more action, the bookmaker will change the odds to less attractive number to shift money into the other bets.

Out here in the West what I have noticed is that it really just depends on what conference you're from when it comes to Howard or Myers. Seriously I have talked to buds in Florida, Penn, D.C., Washington state, Oregon, Colorado, Cali etc and it's divided. Seems everyone in the West is impressed with Howard and is ignoring his age and experience and everyone in the East is right. :D

i still gotta go with the goalie. age has nothing to do it, and without him, the wings are 11th in the west. he was that good. he was in alot of veznia discussions.

I know Howard wants to seem young and all, being called Jimmy, but I still think his age is a factor. The dude is 6 years older than Myers. I don't care what your profession is, the simple life experience you gain in 6 years of living is going to make you better at it.

I can't be non-bias here. I like Myers more because I'm a Sabres fan. Who knows what I would think if I wasn't. That being said, we'll see what happens.

you do realize that nabby and belfour both won calders at 26 as well, right? goaltending is not comparable to defense, and to step in and carry a team to the playoffs, on his back, as a rookie, is remarkable.

Not really, it happens all the time to be honest with you. Leighton, Halak, etc... Not that what Myers did was more remarkable or unremarkable, I'm just saying that over the years I have seen this sort of thing happen dozens of times. Does anybody remember Jim Carey of Washington back in like 96'? The Mask?

That defense went to the Finals two years in a row, yeah they endured numerous injuries and Howard kept them in many games and even won a few for them. Anybody in that position of importance like a QB or a pitcher is going to LOOK much more impressive because of the instant association with "he carried the team" but he didn't win those 37 games by himself anymore then Halak upset a couple of teams by himself.

Age and experience have A TON to do with it dude, are you crazy? he's got 6 more years of position development. He's had NHL experience before. Myers didn't SNIFF the NHL until this year, and was NEVER sent down. Saying without howard the wings are in 11th is pure speculation; without him, maybe they would have played a tighter defensive game, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Not even the six years of hockey experience at a high level, six years of life experience is enormous.
