Tom Renney is the new head coach of the Oilers, with Pat Quinn being given the title of "Senior Advisor to Hockey Operations". Or some such shit. |

He actually resigned as coach but the organization kept him on. |

isn't that how it works? they let him quit and move him somewhere out of the way, so it saves him the humiliation of getting axed... not saying that's what happened hear, but I think it's happened before |

They had the plan in place from day one that after a year or two(Quinn was thinking two) they would move him into an advisory role and have Renney take over. |
