The NHL and the Owners have reached an agreement on the CBA, and have Extended it atleast a year, possibly longer.

The Salary Cap based on Team Revenues has gone up, and will be around 61M next season, with the floor being around 39M

More details as they come.

Cap won't be going higher than $59.2M, James Mirtle reports.

Except last year when they were inside $2M from the cap at the end of the year.

And the year before that when they were even closer, and needed every penny of Little Timmy's LTIR cushion.

This notion that they don't spend money is nonsense.

So why did they ever bother to enforce a cap? Contracts are right back where they were before the work stoppage, and the average American's real wages are worse.

Was a 5% increase from what I've read, 5% of ~57M is roughly 59.8M

Unless I'm doing the math wrong; James Mirtle is wrong.

Gary Cobb, and Piere LaBrun both report the 5% growth on the cap.
