http://twitter.com/MikeSundheim/statuses/17420230669 Canes PR guy Mike Sundheim has tweeted that Capt. Ugly Motherfucker is holding a press conference today at 2:30. It's expected that he'll be announcing his retirement. Thank you, you broke-ass caveman, for giving us this moment at the tail end of the 2008/2009 season (watch the captions heehee): Now go fuck yourself for wearing the ring that should be either on Briere's or Drury's hand. |

Listening to the commentary after the captions when it the whole thing is in slow-mo is funnier than hell. |

He should apologize for not retiring last year (or before). He was atrocious last year. I am struggling to remember any veteran who was so bad at the end of his career. |

Done deal Quote: "I said, 'I'm done. It's over,' " he added. "I don't want to go play anymore, and certainly don't want to play anywhere else." http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=5343269 BTW, nice video...."Patrick Kaleta 2:00 for hitting too hard" That about sums it up. |

"Rod Brind'Amour is retiring after 21 NHL seasons to take an unspecified job with the Carolina Hurricanes." Didn't he already have an unspecified job?

Still one hell of a player and career. Back to back Selke trophies. I'm really surprised he just didn't play his last season of the contract. Real nice guy though. Hopefully his son makes it as far as he did in the NHL. And I hope I get to see him around the ice rinks again. I still thought it was super cool I shook his hand. |
