Now I've just been onto hockeybuzz and although rumors that come out of this website 99% of the time fail to come through just something to consider. There is a piece where it's reported to come from Sportsnet (much more reliable source)

http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Travis-Y ... 4/29051--- The link

"With news breaking today that Marc Savard waived his no trade clause for two teams in the National Hockey League, rampant speculation broke loose. Although Savard is on the wrong side of 30, he's still got loads of talent, as indicated by his 78 point and 88 point campaigns in 2008 and 2009, respectively.

The two teams remained a mystery for a few hours, but when news broke, it wasn't a complete shocker that Ottawa was one of them.

Marc Savard has waived his no-movement clause and given the Boston Bruins consent to trade him to either the Toronto Maple Leafs or Ottawa Senators, sources tell Sportsnet.

Savard's an Ottawa native, and has had nothing but great things to say about the city for years. The question, however, is will Bryan Murray make a pitch for an incredibly gifted player like Savard, and more importantly one who can take some of the pressure off of Jason Spezza's shoulders.

Since Savard has only named two teams, don't expect to hear anything right just yet - the Boston Bruins would be foolish to only try and pitch a deal to Toronto/Ottawa. If the Bruins wait until July 1st, Savard has to expand his list to five teams, which gives Boston a lot more flexibility when considering returns.

Ottawa will definitely be in the running for Savard, but you can expect Toronto to make a serious run at Savard by that same token. The Maple Leafs, a team that's undergoing a proper rebuild and already starting to turn the corner, could use a player like Savard in their locker room to help groom the younger talent.

One thing to note is that Savard has a cap hit of roughly $4M for the next seven years. If the Senators were to make a trade, they'd have to dump some salary in order to bring him north of the border. Erik Karlsson is off limits, but it's probably reasonable to say that most all others are in play. If I'm Murray, I dangle next year's first round pick just for starters. A Savard trade would mean this team is a pretty solid bet to make the playoffs next season, and a weak first rounder doesn't mean all that much in the grand scheme of things.

I'll have more news as it comes through the wire, but wanted to hear your take on it. Would you make a run at Marc Savard? What would you offer? "

Now I personally wouldn't want this going through for ever team because we obviously have struggles against the sens the way it is but if you reunite savard and kessel on the leafs, a potential scary thought pops into mind. They played pretty damn well together back in Boston.

Your thoughts

Hopefully Boston will play it smart, wait until July 1... force him to expand his list of teams and he gets dealt somewhere out of the division... although what Boston is putting together is pretty rugged... i don't want to see them get to much for savard...

It's not coming from HockeyBuzz or SportsNet originally - it's coming from The Man himself, Darren Dreger. Then Pierre LeBrun heard about it, too. Then the dude who writes NBC Pro Hockey Talk.

I would be surprised if the B's traded Savard.

Now eklund is reporting it can be done within the next twenty-four hours :S Again very unlikely because after all it is eklund but if it does go through it aint something good for the division.

It's a phrase that basically means, if you wanna see the Sabres at the top, turn the rankings.

I also would be surprised if the Bruins trade Savard, but we are talking about Darcy, the guy isn't going to really affect our emotions regarding the personnel moves of other teams. I will be shocked if he has anything to do with how we feel regarding other teams' offseason moves! I just have a feeling he will not control our emotions like usual! Sorry, but I have no faith in the guy at all.

Burke has publicly said he is not even considering trading for Savard.

With Savard in the B's Lineup, the Sabres would have lost in 4, per Eklund E4

As I said in the GDT, the call on Rivet was horseshit. The Bruins player was holding onto Rivet's stick like it was the last fucking raft on the Titanic.
