I don't think we need contraction either, yes the talent level isn't real great on some teams, but that's the life of sports for you, you have bad teams and good teams.
The only thing we need is relocation on two or three teams, add one Canadian team back possibly, either Quebec or Winnipeg look like the most viable options right now.
And even move a team in the Oregon/Washington area which could work out, instant rivalry with Vancouver.
