I'm a little surprised that they walked away from this, but it's not like they had much choice in the matter with their cap problems. They're still almost $2M over.

Soft market for goalies this year too...I wonder what happens with him.

I doubt it to be honest; the Flyers have 22 players on their roster and 375K in cap space; I think they have their roster pretty well set.

I think Ideal landing spots for Niemi are, Washington, NYI (depending on DiPietro's Health), and possibly Tampa.

I also notice that only 1 team is below the cap floor right now, that's Colorado, and they may be interested in taking on some quality players, with higher salaries; given their 20+M in cap space at the moment.

I really like this signing for the Hawks, Niemi is definitely not worth 2.75 mil per year no matter if he has won a cup or not.
