Daily News of Philadelphia is reporting via Twitter that Simon Gagne has been traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning from the Philadephia Flyers. We're awaiting confirmation as well as players involved. We'll keep you up to date here as more information becomes available..

[Note by John Fontana, 07/19/10 2:38 PM EDT ] Damian Cristordero is reporting that the Flyers traded LW Gagne for defenseman Matt Walker and a 4th round selection in 2011. That's the second veteran D-man that the Flyers have taken off the Lightning's hands this off-season.

Wow Darcy, you couldn't give up a 4th pick and a grinder? All we needed to do was maybe shed some salary.

OK, this is the one and only time I'm going to post this:

Simon Gagne waived his NTC only to play with Tampa. That's it. Darcy Regier couldn't do a goddamn thing to get Gagne because Gagne had all the power in the world to decide where to play. And he chose to play for Stevie Y in sunny Tampa with Lecavalier and St. Louis, a couple of fellow Quebecois.

I agree, I don't want Frolov here. He's a player with confidence issues and Lindy Ruff sure isn't going to inspire any confidence haha.

And he's sort of a panzy passing guy. Don't get me wrong, that's good, but we have too many fucking Connollys.

sorry phil for angering you lol. I didnt read the story...i guess im just a little mad that nothings been done yet. I know Buffalo's situation, but all we really did was get Niedermayer (love that move), and overpay Leopold. 3m? ugh....But I think he'll thrive in our system. I just really want someone who scores goals regularly

Barring injury, I truly believe Vanek's good for 35-45 goals this year and we'll have 3-4 other 20-goal scorers.

Of course, I base this on absolutely nothing

Fuck it, I still believe...

Not mad, for serious. Some people are just more notorious for bitching and I wanted to head them off at the pass, so to speak lol.

I know, Yzerman has made some solid moves in his first off-season as a GM. His reputation helps A LOT, I'll bet.

Good point but that is when they had movie director running the team.

Fair enough. And yes, their top 6 is beastly, but their defense looks shaky and I'm not sold on their goaltending.

They got Dan Ellis as their goalie, they signed him after the Habs got him from nashville.
