so the Hossa deal is an acceptable front loaded deal.... the kovi deal just went a bit to far...lol... well at least there is a line... the question is how many of the backend years need to be taken off or what does the min. salary need to be for the deal to be acceptable? |

Dropping those back end years under $1M was most likely their downfall. It's reasonable that a veteran over 40 would sign for $1M-$1.5M towards the end of their career, but not for $500k. |

Total fucking bullshit!  What a bunch of dip-shit hypocrites. Let's see, about 12 years ago they wiped out half a hockey season because they couldn't come to terms. So the owners band together and start up a collection over the next 8 years to prepare themselves for a lockout. They got their wish, an entire season is wiped out. I almost took a cooking class...A COOKING CLASS!!!!  . And now, those same owners are fucking the their own CBA with their own dicks, and they don't like it. The STILL can't figure out what they want, after having the players by the balls. All they had to do was make a rule that states that annual salaries cannot exceed or diminish by more than 30% of the average annual salary over the length of the contract. There. A high school drop out dumb as nails cable guy just fucking fixed what these ass hats jerked around for nearly a lifetime. |

Bloch, the arbitrator, included speech in his ruling that seems to imply the NHL may go after previously-registered contracts that are similar in structure to Kovalchuk's rejected deal. Pronger and Hossa would be the intended targets, I'd guess. |
