http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=330032 PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia Flyers forward Riley Cote has retired and will stay with the organization as an assistant coach for the team's AHL affiliate. Cote announced his decision Monday. He played in 156 games for the Flyers and scored one goal with seven points and 411 penalty minutes from 2006-2010. He joined head coach Greg Gilbert's staff with the AHL's Adirondack Phantoms. 28 years old, and retires to coach in the AHL. Could this have something to do with the cap? I mean, it only takes 550 grand off the cap (so they'd be under it, now), but I'm sure they could have assigned him to "play" in Adirondack, instead. Very strange... |

Funny thing is sometimes the goons and 4th liners make the best coaches. They're forced to be more heady to hang around whereas the other guys can kinda just get by on talent. If you ever really listen to Rayzor the fuckin goes knows his shit. He really would make a good coach |
