I guess nobody really cares about 20 cent.

I wouldn't mind seeing it again, especially since he's bringing it to the Falls where I live.

But, I have all kind of family in from out of town for my cousin's wedding, so I won't be able to make it.

If it was a once in a lifetime kind of thing to see the Cup, I'd be excited. But it kind of hangs out in Buffalo at least twice a calendar year regardless.

the cup is really fantastic to see. up close, you can see the thing is dinged and dented to hell and back. lotta stories that want to be told. im really bummed the keeper wouldnt let me hoist it, though i cant say i blame him. but that kiss was magical!

I had the opportunity to touch the Cup, but I wouldn't. I haven't earned that right.

It was cool enough to be close to it, knowing all the history that comes along with it.

if you were an NHL player, id say ok. seeing this is the closest ill ever get to the NHL (outside of playing against 2 NHLers as a highschool kid), i think i owed it to myself to hug and kiss the cup. especially if the keeper gave me the go ahead.

Not criticizing your choice to do it. Just commenting on why I wouldn't.

I'd talk a big game about how I don't play and haven't earned my right to touch it, but in its presence I get all retarded and want to kiss it. I'd kiss it.

lol, I've done it. Actually, when Paul MacLean had it here 2-3 years ago when the wings won it, I was pretty much a whore with it. Although I wasn't allowed to pick it up, I molested it pretty damn good :D

Plan on doing pretty much the same when Al MacIsaac brings it to town at the end of the month!

He said he's bringing it to Roswell, and I volunteer there every Friday...it would be cool if he's there when I'm volunteering. I've touched the Cup a few times. Whenever I'm at the Hockey Hall of Fame (although it's a good chance that I've only seen the decoy one there) and a few years ago they had a one night exhibit at the Albright-Knox where they had the Cup and the other trophies like the Vezina and stuff. It was a cool night...the Keeper of the Cup guy had a Q&A session and he had a lot of neat stories.

Wasn't everyone getting pissed around here when he said he was gonna take it to Vegas. Now he is bringing it here and everyone is all meh about it.

Hopefully, Buffalo doesn't bend over a pool table for him when he comes. They did that here in Winnipeg, when Toews came with the cup. First, they renamed Dakota Community Center (where he played AAA) The "Jonathan Toews Community Center". Then, if that wasn't enough, the province named a fucking lake after him:

People here were acting as if he invented hockey. Yes, he had a great year (Gold Medal, Stanely Cup, Conn Smythe (Deserved?)), But naming community centers and lakes after 20-some year old hockey players who play a "Team Game" seems way overboard to me. We looked like yokels.

And no, I didn't attend the parade either .

I saw the cup in 2002, when it was on tour. It was a pretty sparse turnout, so the line wasn't very long for pictures. This was at a time when people were still bitter about the Jets, and figures there was no way in hell we'd get another team. I don't think I'd go see it again, unless a Sabre brought it here, or within a couple hours (Goose? :shhh: ).

Haha, one never needs a reason to post a pic of what they've done with the Cup. I don't think I'd ever try to pick it up or lift it over my head for the fact I've never earned THAT rite. Groping, molesting and planting a smooch or 6 on that cup...I'd do again in a heartbeat! If a person has never seen/touched/experienced it in person before, they’re missing out, IMO

Irony, is that the Turner cup in the background in your pic??
