So, their fourth line will have Peters and Belak? They're one Brashear away from away from the washed-up goon squad line!

Edit: It's a two-way deal, and here's the link

I think Peters would have to have been at least marginally good at some point to be considered washed-up..

Oops, my bad...Belak is with NSH now and not FLA.

And yea, Patches is a Panther now, too.

I'm just happy Peters has a job. Classy dude. Just can't play hockey worth a fuck.

Good luck with him Florida, expect him to spend more time in the box than he does on the ice.

1998 NHL Draft

34th Andrew Peters
44th Mike Fisher
45th Mike Ribeiro
64th Brad Richards :bang:

I get that the draft is a crap-shoot, but who the fuck drafts an enforcer in the second round?! And he was a bust, even by enforcer standards!!

If he could fight he would be Billy Madison. He has a pretty hard shot, I've seen him in practice and pre game practice drilling those pucks and almost hitting a fan (sarcasm, his shot is horribly inaccurate).

And the mother of all "why didn't we get him" Henrik Zetterberg 210th overall...

He fell to 210th for a reason. That he panned out is a 1 in 1,000,000,000 mircale. Same with Datsyuk.

I'm glad he found work. I never really thought he was that bad, the guy can fight, and has beat on some of the premier fighters in the league.

He's not much of a hockey player, that's true, but he's still a solid enforcer.

I hope we get to see him play against Buffalo atleast once this year, I love the guy, and think he's one of the classiest, and most respectable people in the league. He does thousands of hours of charity work every year, and he's a hard working guy. Can't ask for a better character guy.

Well it was Andro; which everyone was taking at the time, because it wasn't necessarily considered a steroid. It was a health supplement for a while, sold over the counter. When it became illegal, it was found that several NHL players were taking it; because it's made from a component found in your liver, that helps produce excess testosterone into your body.

Long story short, it's a similar situation like HGH, it was sold over the counter, the FDA said no more, but by then several pro athletes were already using it, and tested positive for using it.

Both of those players just weren't highly touted as a prospect because no scouts really saw them play, but when scouts did see those guys play they knew no one else would take them and knew they could be something.

Not every player capable of playing in the NHL at a decently high level gets drafted early, especially in those days, even if it was only just over 10 years ago.

I saw with the advancing internet now, those players would have been can't miss guys by all scouts.

Who knows really? Both players are great and were lucky scouts noticed them when they did, or their NHL career might never have begun or at least started much later.

People who think Peters is one of the worst NHL enforcers ever have never seen Todd Fedoruk fight.
