Yes, the same trick that Jacksonville does (covering seats to reduce capacity) has moved south to the BankAtlantic Center. http://blogs.trb.com/sports/custom/busi ... orida.html Not only have they covered up 2500 seats, they're selling sponsorships on the tarps. What a joke. |

ββIt is an incredibly natural fit for Party City to receive exposure on the upper bowl covers that will help to make the BankAtlantic Center a more intimate and exciting setting during the 2010-11 season,β Panthers President Michael Yormark said in a statement. |

Heh. I was pretty busy this weekend between yardwork and a dive, so I didn't make my usual rounds of useless information. |

Let's be honest, those seats were never going to be filled anyway. |

Weren't they the ones that were selling season tickets for like 100 bucks... On one hand it's funny, but on the other hand it's embarrassing as a hockey fan. |

damn I thought their intimate setting was NSFW Someone (or a group of people) needs to pony up and sponsor the seat covers on behalf of Gary Bettman Epic it would be. |

Florida is far from a model franchise anywhere in the league. I don't see the Canes tarping their seats, or even Dallas, or even Tampa. Atlanta hasn't tarped any of their seats. |

True in every area, normally if you got a good team people will come, if your team sucks, they normally won't sell out. Buffalo was selling 13,000 or less seats when they filed for bankruptcy, Pittsburgh wasn't selling seats before Crosby arrived. The only exception to that is Toronto, they sell out all the time regardless of the product on the ice. |

They are definitely the most popular team in Toronto, over the Jays and the Bombers? I believe that is the CFL team? Either way lets be honest Hockey is more fun in Canada than baseball and football. So with a team like Toronto... people are always going to go to the games. So why should they try to get better if they are selling out? |
