I dunno. I went to OSU. I don't really care about college football though. |

Good. A goaltender should never be a captain, in any sport. The position requires so much mental investment as it is. Having to be a captain in addition is just crazy. |

i dunno about that. alot of goaltenders are leaders by nature. sometimes not with words, but actions. i remember during the late 90s, several of the sabres, including peca himself, said that while he didnt wear the "C," that was haseks team and he was the leader. |

Goaltenders can be leaders all they want. They don't need to have a C on their chest to do it. |

well, in fairness, they CANT wear a C or an A. thats kinda what i wrote in the "who should be captain this year" for the sabres thread. doesnt matter who wears the C, i just hope someone steps up and is vocal. |

Watch how much better Luongo plays this season without the C. That'll be my proof. Leading by example is just fine. Goaltenders are great at that. They're natural leaders. But part of the responsibility of a captain is to talk to referees, call out team mates, and just generally be a vocal person. Goaltending requires far too much mental focus to be able to play 100% while also fulfilling those duties. I think Luongo giving it up says it all. |

If he causes the team to collapse in the playoffs again this year, they will have to get rid of him. |
