It appears as though the Florida Panthers have added some offensive punch as the Sun Sentinel is reporting that the team has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with free agent centre Dominic Moore.

According to the Sentinel, the team is expected to announce the signing Monday.

"He's really excited about it," said Moore's agent, Larry Kelly told the Sun Sentinel. "He thinks it's a huge opportunity to play for Peter DeBoer. DeBoer is one of the brighter guys in the game. It's a perfect fit for Dom."

Kelly stated that he has spoken to four teams about his client, however he mentioned DeBoer as a 'critical aspect' for Moore deciding to sign with Florida.

"These guys will be kindred spirits," Kelly told the Sentinel. "They'll be able to communicate extremely well and Pete will be able to assess what Dom does well and utilize him properly."

The Sarnia native enjoyed a career season last year, splitting time between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Buffalo Sabres. He had 13 goals and 32 assists in 81 games.

I guess he finally decided to take what he could get, not what he thought he was worth which was way more than anybody was willing to fork over. Especially after the way he played for us.

Not sure how he'll get but I like the cut of his jib. Don't care for his agent though. Good luck Moore.

Good luck to him. He'll make that crappy team a little bit better.

His time here was way too short. And as much as I wanted to see a good contract offered his way, I think what his grubby agent was looking for was way over priced. I think Moore is gonna bring some much neded strength to the center position. He's got good hands and has some decent speed.

What's the market for a 29 year old player, who prior to last seasons 45 points (mostly on a weak Toronto team), best season was 17 points?

I shouldn't think a lot. Still, he has an opportunity to prove last season was no fluke. This is his season to either secure a nice contract for the future - or to be nothing more than a journeyman player....

Good for him. I liked Moore and was hoping he would find somewhere to play.

Yeah, I liked him and his play. He might not have score a crap load of goals but he contributed to this team with his attitude. Agent wanted too much for him tho

Great faceoff man. Good PK man, too. A bit undersized, but great vision and good hustle.

Good luck, Dom.

How stupid does this guy feel after he could of had a 3 year deal but decided to overvalue himself and get greedy asking for 3 million a year. You scored playing for the leafs, big deal somebody had to, his limitations were on full display after the trade to buffalo.

Someone had the right idea about him.

One year for 1.1 mil. He would be a decent signing if there was a need for a checking center.

I often refer to 30+-year-olds as kids, and I am nineteen. :D

Moore finally remembered he was a third liner instead of a first liner. I personally hope he rots in the Sunshine state.

Dom was fast and he worked hard... but he didn't seem to accomplish much on offense, and even less on defense.

I couldn't count on my fingers how many times he got shoved off the puck too easily in the defensive zone leading to a goal against.

Good luck to him, but I'm glad we didn't sign him. I'll take Kennedy any day over Dom.
