Interesting pick up for Detroit.

...Glad he didn't end up back with the Sabres. The guy is so fucking washed up; and why would we want a relic like him on this team of "future stars"?

I couldn't see him contributing anything, in terms of mentoring or development.

/sarcasm.

As much as I appreciate what May brings to the ice, he is not needed here at this stage of his career. We're absolutely loaded up with that type of player, and don't need to bring in another 4th line mucker with a 38 year old body.

...you're right, of course.

But, I'll still cast my lot with Kenny Holland, and the Wings. Funny, how they can consistently turn "trash" into pure fucking platinum.

You can bet they had a purpose in mind when they picked him up, Kenny just wouldn't sign him out of nostalgia, or on a whim. Pretty interesting pick up with everyone who is left unsigned, but he had to come heap cheap.

One year, $500,000.

Ken obviously felt his team lacked something that Brad offers.....

That's pretty accurate. Watching the Red Wings, its almost obnoxious how soft they look at times. And that is not a knock on the birthplaces of any of their players. The team, as a whole, just doesn't seem very gritty or scrappy.

Brad played his role well last night, so I am sure Babcock is happy with his investment. I am still waiting for our first real fight. Patty protected himself and gave a good account last night, but it wasn't two pissed off combatants going at it!
