This is fucked up. If the Panthers wanted to call him up he'd have to go through re-entry waviers even though he was loaned to Florida, so technically Washington could theoretically claim him on re-entry waviers or am I wrong? Plus couldn't this be technically circumventing the salary cap?? |

It is circumventing the cap basically, but this loaning process has been around forever. Filatov was loaned to the KHL last year because he needed more time to develop. They didn't want to buy him out, and he went and played in the AHL and KHL last year or the last two years anyways. |
